Meet Joy Wortley C-SLDI

A parenting coach on a mission to replace power struggles with positive limits, so families can grow in connection, not conflict.

"Children don't need perfect parents. They need parents who hold the line with love."

— Joy Wortley C-SLDI

Joy Wortley C-SLDI has spent over fifteen years sitting on living-room floors with parents who felt they were failing. Time after time, she heard the same heartbreak: I want to be kind, but I'm scared of being too soft.

Joy saw what the research confirms: children thrive within clear, consistent, warm boundaries. The problem was never limits themselves. It was that no one had shown these parents how to hold a limit without losing the connection.

So she built Joyful Limits: a collection of practical, affordable resources that turn the abstract idea of "positive parenting" into scripts you can say, systems you can run, and rituals you can keep, for typical and neurodivergent children alike.

Every product is $27, intentionally. Joy believes the tools that change a family shouldn't be locked behind a price tag that excludes the families who need them most.

The journey

2009

Where it began

Joy starts volunteering with families in crisis and notices the same pattern: parents who wanted to be loving felt they had to choose between warmth and limits.

2015

The approach takes shape

After years of 1:1 coaching, Joy distills her method into four principles: Connection, Clarity, Calm, Consistency. Limits that hold because they're rooted in love.

2019

Open to every brain

Joy redesigns her resources to explicitly serve neurodivergent children and families, building sensory-aware and ADHD-friendly systems.

2024

Joyful Limits today

A community of 12,000+ parents, a growing library of accessible $27 resources, and a daily affirmations practice that keeps families grounded.

The four principles

Every Joyful Limits resource is built on these four foundations.

Connection

Relationship is the foundation a limit stands on.

Clarity

Children feel safe when they know exactly what to expect.

Calm

A regulated adult is the most powerful parenting tool.

Consistency

Gentle repetition is what makes a boundary hold.
